Rosaura “Rosi” Garcia Godinez (she/her/ella) is a bilingual English- and Spanish-speaking Associate Marriage and Family Therapist whose work is deeply rooted in her Latina heritage and commitment to providing culturally responsive care.
Rosi works primarily with BIPOC individuals and members of the LGBTQIA+ community, supporting clients as they navigate depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship challenges, identity, and life transitions. She is passionate about creating a therapeutic environment where clients from marginalized and underserved communities feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.
Her approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally attuned to the unique experiences and needs each client brings into therapy. Rosi creates a compassionate and empathetic space where clients are encouraged to show up authentically, explore who they are, and identify the changes they want to make in their lives.
Rosi integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) into her work. Rather than viewing herself as the expert on a client’s life, she sees therapy as a collaborative process and her role as walking alongside clients as they develop a deeper understanding of themselves, recognize patterns, access their strengths, and move toward greater self-acceptance.
Rosi holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Palo Alto University. Her education and understanding of behavior and patterns help her build genuine connections with clients while honoring each person’s fundamental need to feel seen and heard.
She is especially passionate about holding space for marginalized and underserved populations and believes that healing begins when people have a safe environment where they can be fully themselves.
Outside the therapy room, Rosi recharges by going to the gym, spending time with her family, and taking walks with her German Shepherd. She finds joy in both her dedication to her family and work and life’s simple pleasures—including a good iced coffee or matcha.
Rosi’s bilingual ability in English and Spanish, combined with her Latina heritage, allows her to provide culturally attuned therapy that honors the role culture, identity, family, and lived experiences can play in a client’s healing journey.
Her passion for working with BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities shapes her commitment to creating an affirming and compassionate space where clients can authentically explore their identities, relationships, experiences, and the changes they want to make in their lives.
Rosi integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) within a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, helping clients better understand patterns, build on their strengths, and move toward greater self-understanding and acceptance.
“I believe healing begins with having a safe space where you can authentically be yourself, feel seen and heard, and begin to understand and accept who you are."
